A voice-activated teleprompter that follows your pace

What is a voice-activated teleprompter?

A voice-activated teleprompter listens through your microphone and moves the script as you speak. A fixed-speed prompter follows a timer; voice sync follows your place in the text. In Cuefyr, pausing holds the script, and repeating a line lets it re-anchor to what you are saying.

You still start the read yourself. “Voice-activated” describes the scrolling, not a wake word or a system that writes or speaks your script for you. Cuefyr is a desktop application for Windows and Mac, rather than a browser app or a piece of teleprompter hardware.

Three languages, one reading workflow

Set up your first voice-following read

1. Prepare a short script

   Type, paste or import plain text. Use short, readable lines. Put reminders such as [pause] or [smile] in square brackets; they remain visible without becoming words the voice sync expects.

2. Select the language and microphone

   In Settings, General, choose Script language. Finish downloading its speech pack while online. In Settings, Devices, select the microphone you will use for the session.

3. Open the prompter and press Start

   Read a few sentences after the countdown. Pause, then repeat a sentence to check the tracking with your actual microphone, room and script. Recognition can mishear words, so rehearse before a live presentation.

4. Position it for your camera

   Use Float to put the script over another app. Narrow the text column and place the read line close to the camera lens. Mirror mode is available for a beam-splitter rig.

Use it for video, calls or rehearsal

For OBS, use a camera source or capture a specific application window that does not include Cuefyr. Full-display capture can show the prompter, so check your preview before recording or streaming. The OBS setup guide walks through the choices.

For Zoom, Teams or Meet, the floating script sits on your own desktop. Sharing the entire screen can expose it; share only the intended window and check what your audience can see. You can also record voice or camera and voice directly in Cuefyr.

Offline after setup, with clear limits

Speech recognition runs locally. Once the required speech packs are installed, voice following works offline; internet access is needed for downloads and updates. Pro licence validation uses the network when available.

Voice following is available in English, Hindi and Urdu. English filler-word detection and related text metrics should not be treated as Hindi or Urdu coaching features. A supported language is also not a promise of perfect recognition for every accent, microphone or script.
